this fantastic scheme. All you need to do is visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/clarkstonbtc and when you register, select The Clarkston Bowling & Tennis Club as the organisation you wish to support. | Clarkston Website - Top of the HITS parade The
club are delighted to report that visitors to our club website have
increase massively since over the past 12 months. Last month we had
over 3000 hits and whilst it might cost the club slightly more to run
the site, because of the increased traffic, it is a price worth paying
with the membership and general public obviously making good use
of this valuable communication tool. Just for comparison before the
website revamp last October we were lucky to get 3000 visitors per year. A big thanks must go to Josh Hahn for all his efforts in setting up the website and keeping it updated. Please
make sure and add the Club website to your favourites bar and keep
checking to catch up on what is happening at YOUR CLUB! Also if you have a news story and would like to share it please again email the club.
If
you have any feedback on the website or have suggestions for
improvements please email the club website and we will see what we can
sort out. PS: We would like to quash any suggestion that 2999 of the hits were from Steven Bradshaw admiring his picture! | British Tennis Membership - Not Got One Yet .....Get One The
LTA are keen to get as many people as possible to sign up for a British
Tennis Membership (BTM). If you are a member of an affiliated club, you
can apply to receive free BTM until at least 2012, and it will be
renewed automatically. The attached link like will give all details http://www.lta.org.uk/britishtennismembership/
.Each year the club obtains an allocation of Wimbledon (Show
Court) tickets based on the number of BTM's we have. These are
then balloted out to those Junior & Senior members who have a BTM
number. Ask anybody and they will tell you what a fantastic day a
trip to the Wimbledon so don't hesitate and sign up today. BTM
membership is open to all members of the club not just senior. | Vets Inter-Club Tournament Clarkston

biting final against Whitecraigs couple Simon Coom & Moira Smith.

| Any Old Rackets??? The
club would be more than grateful if the members could have a look in
the attic or check the garage to see if you have any old rackets
kicking about which you no longer make use of. The Coaching team would
be delighted to receive any unwanted and unloved tennis equipment you
have lying about in order to encourage anybody who is interested in
tennis to have a go without feeling they have to get all kitted up
before stepping onto the courts. Obviously the rackets need to be
useable but anything will be accepted. The coaching team will be at the
club every Saturday morning for the next few month. Alternatively you
can leave them in the Ball Box in the Tennis hall way.
| Calling all Juniors and Intermediates- Junior Box League Starting in September!

introducing a FREE box league for junior and intermediate members of

numbers, which will be divided according to the players’ age and
standard and it is intended that the boxes will be mixed.
Anyone wishing to participate in the box league should contact Jill Montgomery at jill.montgomery@strath.ac.uk
or on 07817268601. There will also be an entry list put up in the
junior room in the clubhouse. Players must sign up by 6th September
2010 and the boxes will go up on the 13th September. PLEASE enter your

Tennis Club, represented by Steven Bradshaw and Hannah Pickford, have
won the Carrickmines Bowl following a closely contested
final over Uddingston pair David Campbell and Julie Dalgetty. Strathgryffe
Tennis & Squash Club hosted the 2010 event which was first
contested in 2004, the centenary year of Tennis West of Scotland.
This very popular handicapped mixed doubles event is open to pairs from
all clubs affiliated to Tennis West of Scotland and was well supported.
Profits from the day go to the Dan Maskell Fund which provides
tennis-playing opportunities for people with disabilities, primarily
wheelchair and deaf players, and players with learning difficulties. The
Clarkston club is a previous winner of the Bowl, donated by the
Carrickmines Croquet & Lawn Tennis Club of Dublin, having won the
event in its inaugural year.
